Sunday Security Update

Hello CrossPointe family, I hope you all are doing well!

I wanted to provide an update regarding a recent decision that has been made by our church elders and staff, along with the leadership of Altamonte Chapel. In an effort to provide the safest space for worship on Sundays, we will be hiring an off-duty Altamonte Springs police officer to be present from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. This will provide security coverage during the time our worship team is practicing, the Chapel service, and our CrossPointe service. 

We want you to know that this has been a conversation that has been in the works for a few months now and there was no precipitating incident that has prompted this decision. Rather we want to be as intentional as possible in prioritizing the safety of the adults and the many children who are present on Sundays. Given the nature of our facilities, with multiple buildings, hiring a dedicated security officer seems to us a prudent decision. We will continue to employ all of our previous safety measures, including secure check-in/check-out for kids, automatic locking doors in the kids facilities, only vetted adults with background checks allowed to serve in the CP Kids areas, etc. 

This new security measure will begin as soon as possible, likely tomorrow, or the following Sunday. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email and we will follow up. 

Let’s pray that our church will continue to be a safe space for all people to be pointed to Jesus.
